Oh how pretty...

Jeremy would be so upset with me if he knew that I took these pictures. He would be even more upset if he knew that I put them on the blog. But seriously, how could I not. This morning when I was in the shower, Landon took out my makeup make and decided to get himself ready. I swear, I wiped it all off right after I snapped a few photos. Sorry buddy, I hope these don't come back to haunt you some day!

First professional haircut

After Landon's last haircut I was advised (by my husband) not to cut his hair anymore. With family pictures just a week away, I decided to get Landon's hair trimmed by a professional. It went as expected - Landon was upset and cried through the entire haircut. He did not fight it though, which was great. I admit, Steph did a better job than I ever did!

Birthday treats...

Yesterday was Grandma Merrill's birthday, so we had her over for supper. Landon really enjoyed his ice cream treat after supper! I must mention that he went straight to the tub when he was done!
Didn't like the ice cream, just the chocolate coating!

Happy 30th Birthday to Me!

That's right, yesterday I celebrated my 30th Birthday. It was such a nice day. In the morning, Jer, Landon, Elke and I headed to the Farmer's Market. We picked up some yummy vegetables, bread and angel food cake. We then headed to the coffee shop and off to the fish hatchery. Landon loves feeding the fish and always gets upset when it's time to leave. When we got home, Landon and I took a nice long run. He fell asleep in the stroller and ended up taking a 3 1/2 hour nap! Jeremy's cousin Jon and his wife Brooke came in the afternoon. We had a great time catching up! In the evening Landon went to Grandpa and Grandma Sabelka's when the adults went out. We had a delicious dinner at the White House and then went to the Zipper for a few drinks. It was a perfect day. And, 30 feels great!

Walking the dog?

I love this new stage of Landon's life - he is starting to use his imagination more and more. This morning Landon saw Elke's leash hanging up in the garage. He repeatedly said, "Want." I gave Landon Elke's leash and he went inside to try and put it on Elke. With a little assistance from Mom, Elke was ready for her walk around the house. Except, Elke would not budge. I know Elke was thinking, "What on earth is he doing?"
Even with a little pull, Landon could not get Elke to go for a walk.
So I hooked up Landon's cow to the leash. This made Landon even more upset because the cow's legs kept falling down. He would stand the cow back up and try and pull the cow, again the cow would fall on it's tummy.
Several stuffed animals later, I hooked up the dog who is already in a laying down position. This way we didn't have to worry about the animal not being able to stand on it's legs. This was a lot of fun until Elke started to chase it and bite at the stuffed puppy.
Landon came over by me where I was getting breakfast ready. Landon said, "Treat, treat." I gave Landon a piece of my granola cereal. Landon tried feeding it to the stuffed puppy saying, "eat." The puppy wouldn't eat it. Elke came over and waited for the right opportunity to snatch it up. What a fun morning!

Landon the professor

Landon thinks it is really funny when I wear my glasses. I always wear them at work, but rarely at home. So when he saw them on me yesterday he thought that he had to wear them. I put them on him and took the opportunity to snap his photo. The other photo is of him trying to read my book! I love this learning stage he is in right now. Wants to copy everything!

Fun in the sun

This past Saturday Landon and I enjoyed the nice weather and pulled out his pool. This is the first time we had it out all year. Somehow last summer the pool didn't seem quite as small!

Landon's first trip to the fire station

Grandpa Sabelka is a volunteer firefighter, and we are all proud of what he does. He takes his job very seriously and spends a lot of time at the fire station writing reports and keeping it clean. So I am surprised that Landon just took his first trip to the fire station. Landon joined his cousins Eryn and Nolan in the trip. Landon had a great time "driving" the big trucks, and eating the popcorn!

Ossian Fest Parade

On Friday night, Landon, Grandma Merrill, Auntie Jo Jo and I headed over to Ossian to watch the parade. It was rather cool (unlike today), but it was so much fun. Landon enjoyed picking up candy, and really enjoyed the string cheese and a sucker! I really enjoyed the ducks in the parade. I have never seen anything like it. They were so stinkin' cute!

Not again...more bug bites...

When we were outside on Sunday, I noticed that Landon got a couple mosquito bites. Yesterday his eye started to swell and today looks even worse. Not only is Landon's eye swollen, but his forhead is swollen too (seperate bites). Is it possible that he is allergic to mosquito bites? At least both eyes weren't swollen shut at the same time...

Fun in Cedar Falls

On Sunday we went to visit Jeremy's cousin Jake and his wife Katrin who were visiting from Denver, CO. It was such a nice day and a really nice visit. Jeremy's Grandma was a wonderful hostess and had lots of yummy food. Thanks Barb! Landon enjoyed being outside and really enjoyed watching and playing with all of the neighbor kids. He did not get an afternoon nap, so as the afternoon progressed Landon seemed to be going down hill. He fell asleep on the way home and it appears as if he is going to sleep until morning. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful time!
Having so much fun playing with anything but toys.
Playing with the neighbors. Yup, that's a water balloon!
Way past nap time. Things are starting to break down...
So, Dad took Landon for a little ride.
