Happy Halloween!!

It's 9 pm, and Landon is in bed sound asleep. He survived his first Halloween and is probably thankful it's over! I think he was actually a little too warm in his costume- who knew it would be 70 degrees on Halloween. Landon didn't do any tricks, yet he still managed to get a few treats. He deserved them though. I don't think there was another monkey out there as cute as he was!

Eryn was an adorable Minnie Mouse, Landon a silly little monkey and Nolan a charming Thomas the Train!

Halloween preview

I put Landon in his Halloween costume a few weeks ago for a few reasons. One, to make sure it fit and two, get some cute photos so I could send out Halloween cards. As you may or may not know, my nickname for Landon is monkey. It's not a coincidence that Landon is going to be a monkey for his first Halloween!

Visit with Ashley

Jeremy's cousin Ashley Eppler is in Iowa visiting this week from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Ashley is staying with Grandma Miller in Cedar Falls, but came up this way for supper last evening. Even though my visit with Ashley was too short, it was nice for her to meet Landon and hear what she's been up to the last five years.

Shopping

Landon attended his first craft show yesterday. We went with Grandma Merrill to the craft show at UNI. We made several other stops and Landon was such a good boy all day. You can see how much Landon was enjoying himself! Landon enjoyed a nice long nap the whole ride home!

Giddy up...

Last weekend Landon's cousins Eryn and Nolan passed along a toy they no longer play with. Here is Landon riding the toy. Seeming how good he is at it, I think Grandma Merrill should be excited. Landon could be ready to ride a real horse any day now!

Bath time fun

Landon absolutely LOVES bath time, and especially loves his bath toys. Last night he was so funny in the bath tub. He thought he needed to put the pirate in his mouth. Pictures really don't capture it. He had the funniest noises to go along with it. Oh, the simple things in life!

Hmmm, it's pretty good!

Here Mommy, you try it! He's getting so good at sharing!

Happy Birthday Grandpa and Grandma S.

Last Sunday my family got together to celebrate Grandma Sabelka's birthday (10/9) and Grandpa Sabelka's birthday (10/16). Earlier in the summer Grandpa gave the kids Calmar Fire Department tee shirts. I was able to squeezzzee Landon in his shirt for one last picture. I had no idea they looked so much alike until we took these pictures. I can't believe how big they are getting. Eryn is 4 1/2 and now in preschool. Nolan will be 2 in November and Landon will be 1 in December. Where has the time gone?

Fun in the leaves

With temps in the 70's this weekend we were definitely enjoying some time outdoors. Landon loves crawling around in the grass and playing with the leaves. He also loved trying to eat the leaves as he seemed disappointed when I took them out of his mouth! Over the past few days Landon has been letting go of furniture when standing next to it. If you stand him up and let go, he is able to stand on his own for a few seconds. Yesterday he was standing on his own and tried to take one step to Daddy.

Here are some of my favorite photos of Landon yesterday!

Doggie disposal

Finally I'm figuring this out. All these years living with us and Elke finally has a job. Elke is awesome at cleaning up food messes. Tonight I took Landon out of the high chair after supper, shook him out and set the tray on the counter top. Well, the tray fell, but have no fear, Elke to the rescue! Elke licked the tray and the floor clean. All I had to do was throw the tray in the sink to wash it up and we were on our way. What a good dog!

I've joined the "Mommy" club

Life was so much easier before Landon but must have been so boring. I remember when I used to spend at least 30 minutes every morning make sure that I found just the right thing to wear and looking my best. Now, it's finding something to wear and hoping I can make it out the door without drool stains. Already running late yesterday I made a frantic phone call to Jer and spent 15 minutes searching the house for a missing paci. Make that three missing paci's. For those that know me, my house is not messy, I live for organizing so where did three pacifiers? Jer came home from work last night and found two, one is still missing and it's driving me crazy. Oh, how life changes upon having children. Now I look forward to Parents magazine coming in the mail and finding out how many BM's Landon had during the day! I wouldn't have it any other way!

Peek a boo with who?

Landon is at the age where peek a boo is the greatest game ever. Who does Landon love to play peek a boo with........himself! Yes, when I try to play with him by putting my hands over my face and he just looks at me like I'm crazy. But he does love to play in his own little way.

Landon loves to hide behind the curtains, then whips them around and screeaaams! Of course he looks around to see who's watching him. He will do this over, and over, and over. Cheap entertainment!

Fall Fun

This past Sunday, we went to Cedar Falls to visit some of Jeremy's family including his cousin Joe from Colorado. Jeremy and I have been together for over 10 years and this was my first time meeting Joe. It was so great to finally meet him! Since the weather was so beautiful we spent most of the afternoon outside. Here are a few photos of Landon enjoying his time outdoors.
