Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!  This year, Mr. Dragon and I went out trick or treating.
Isn't he the scariest dragon you have ever seen?
Landon was totally into trick or treating this year.  He would ring the door bell...
and say, "trick or treat."
And then let out the scariest dragon ROAR that you have ever heard!
After stopping at the neighbors, we stopped and saw Grandma Debbie,
And then on to my Grandparent's house.  Oops, I forgot the camera in the car. :-(
I did remember the camera when we stopped at Leon and Bernice's.  Bernice takes care of Landon while we are at work, and yes, they are the BEST!
And then, on to my parent's house.
Landon had so much fun watching the trick or treaters come to the door.

And then Eryn and Nolan came!  The prettiest witch ever, and the most bravest little fireman!
Happy Halloween!

Halloween treats...

After work tonight, Landon and I got busy making Halloween cupcakes.  Some will go to his friends at daycare, some will go with me to work, and some will go with Jeremy to work. I don't care where they go as long as they  are out of my site.  Yum-O!

I started by making chocolate cupcakes and frosting from scratch.
And, voila, they turned into bats.  Ok, well I don't know about that, but that's what I was trying to make them look like.
Landon enjoyed watching Shrek and eating all the different chocolate that was sprawled out.  Eeek.

 Guilty!
We also got treats ready for Landon's daycare friends.  How fun!

We're back!

The look of my laundry room floor on Monday morning says it all.  We're back!  This trip goes down as hands down, the most memorable vacation we have ever been on!

Team National Retreat: Vacation Day 3

You saw the outside, now it's time to see the inside.  This house is 22,000 sq. ft. of pure beauty.  There are 12 bedrooms and I believe 12 bathrooms.  There is a workout/yoga studio, an awesome kitchen and a super comfy conference room.  I was in love, and I can't wait to go back!

Team National Retreat: Vacation Day 2

First off, let me show you my view as I work at my computer.  Does it seriously get any better than this?
Let me say this.  This retreat, honestly, HONESTLY, has nothing on the HGTV dream homes!!  b.r.e.a.t.h.t.a.k.i.n.g.!  We are talking 22,000 sq. ft. of like nothing you can imagine.  The inside will be another post.  How we got here, is another post.  For now, I will leave you with some photos of the exterior of this house.

Greers Ferry Lake: Vacation Day 1

Late yesterday morning, after a wonderful nights sleep, we headed to the beautiful Greers Ferry Lake.
Mission for the day:  Sit on the massive boat, and soak in the sun!  ALL DAY!!

It was a long, long day, and I'll show you where we ended up, but yesterday was awesome!

Heading out on vaca...

The bags are packed.
 his...
 and hers...
 and his...
Landon headed to Grandma and Grandpa's and Jeremy and I are headed for, Little Rock, Arkansas.  We didn't leave until 7:00 pm.  For all of those who know me, you know I am a morning person, but not the type to stay awake all night and arrive at a hotel at 5:10 am.
We made it as far as Springfield, Missouri.  We checked into a hotel to get a few hours sleep, a hot shower, and a hot breakfast.
It was back at 'em at 9:30 am to go the final leg and do some relaxing!!

I like to ride my bicycle!

Although the weather has been fantastic, Landon has been riding his bicycle in the house.  It's great to be able to have the space for him to do that.  Both upstairs, and the current wide open space downstairs!
It's amazing what just a few months will do.  At the beginning of summer, he couldn't peddle at all.  Now, Landon is zipping all over the place!
All right Mom.  Stop taking my picture and get out of the way!

Fall Harvest time

We came home from work today just in time to see them combining in our fields.  We watched outside for a little, but it was super windy (and dusty), so we headed in doors.  It's really starting to look like fall around here!
Mom, where did the combine go?

Horses + Birthday cake

It was a perfect Fall day.  Temps in the 80's and the sun was shinin'!  We soaked in the summer fall air as much as we could, knowing these days are numbered.  The morning involved a lot of clean up outside.  After making lunch for the boys who were cutting wood, Landon and I walked down to the neighbors to see all the pretty horses.
Today was my Uncle John's trail ride.  We look forward to this every year, unfortunately, the weather hasn't cooperated the last two years.  This year, however, was one for the record books!
After seeing all the horses take off, we continued on a nice long run.  We then ended up back at home and Landon was down for the count.  Just like that, shortly after waking up from his nap, there were horses in our back yard!  They kept coming...
and coming...
and coming...  I don't know if it's the official count, but I heard 43 horses were on the ride.
After watching them in the backyard, we moved to the front and watched them go by again!
This gentelman was so nice and asked if the kids wanted to pet his horse.  Of course!
After the horses were gone, we settled in to celebrate two birthday's.  My Mom's birthday was yesterday (10/9), and next Saturday is my Dad's birthday (10/16).  And, Landon picked the cake out claiming they were just like Granpa's fishies!
You can't have a party without balloons.
A photo with the grandkids.  You can even see Elke peeking through!
Make a wish!
And just because I have the cutest nephew in the world!  Blue frosting turns your tongue blue. ;-)

Digging potatoes

This past Sunday Landon and I went over to my parents house.  Landon was excited to help my Dad dig for potatoes.  Some were easy to find.
The rest needed to be dug up.
Nobody had more fun digging than Elke.  She was right in there digging away.  What a hoot!
Landon quickly lost interest in the potatoes and found a new fascination.  Worms!
