Baby got a haircut...

Remember about a month ago when I showed you Asher's first hair cut trim.  If not, click here to see it.  At that time, I set up for the boys' next appointment, thinking it was eons away.  The day quickly approached and up until Asher hopped in that big black spinny chair, I was having cold feet.  Just in case you're wondering, here are the befores...

Asher did a great job...it probably helped that big brother went first.  We are definitely in monkey see, monkey do mode around this house.  Whatever Landon does, Asher wants to do.  Well, that worked out to our advantage this time.  Landon got his haircut, and Asher was eager to hop in the chair next.
 Such a big boy!

Asher still has the long{er} flowy look going on, but it's definitely shorter than it was.  And even though he still gets called a girl, I'm sorry, he is just meant to have long hair.  I honestly can't even picture him with short hair.  It's just not his style if ya know what I mean?!

So what do you think?  Not a huge change.  Can you tell at all?  It's a little more even in the back and out of his eyes.  To be honest, I wasn't pumped about giving him bangs, but most of the time the hair hung down in his eyes.  I didn't want to cause any vision troubles (seriously the stories I've heard!), so we cut them.  Once he gets a little bigger, I may look at growing them back out.

Thankfully his haircut wasn't drastic enough that it doesn't make him look any older!

Attack of the mosquito

Asher's eyes are looking a little better, but I couldn't help but be taken back when I first saw him yesterday morning.  It took me back to when Landon was little and he had the same reaction to mosquito's.  It looks like any little old bite on this face is going to lead to swollen and puffy eyes for this little tyke.  Still cute as a button though.  (**On a side note, this kid is set to get his haircut tonight.  Not sure if I can do it.  Leave me your thoughts!**)

What to do when it's hot outside...

A few weeks ago when I was prepping for the big birthday party, I was getting the duck pond ready when I looked over and couldn't believe my eyes.  Both boys were stripped down and in the water.  Good thing we don't have any neighbors!

Mid-summer garden report

Things are looking green and lush here at the farm...
 We recently tried building our own sort of tomato cage.  I'll let you know how it works out.
 We are going to have a ton of zucchini.
 The boys love helping water the garden, especially earlier this week when temps were in the mid 90's.
 It doesn't take long for the shoes to come off and the hose to get turned on each other.
 Our first zucchini picked on 7/7/13.
 It was perfect in our stir fry the next night.

Carnival Party {part 2}

So you saw the handsome birthday boys, the fun games, but how about this spread of food...
 It was traditional carnival food with hot dogs, ring salad, fruit on a stick and chips to go.

  What's a carnival without popcorn and cotton candy!
And although most carnivals don't usually include a serving a cake, these birthday's wouldn't be complete without it.

 Three layers of cake included vanilla, chocolate and vanilla with a raspberry filling.  How to choose...good thing for leftovers, I didn't need to!
 Asher and Sullivan had their own little smash cakes.

Let's just say Sullivan loved it.  Asher not so much, I think he was scared!

Although this little guy needed absolutely nothing, he was blessed with some very thoughtful presents.  Included are some new books, a new outfit, Thomas and some tracks, a semi, a bubble mower, a dozer and some money for his savings account.  He loved them all!

We had such a good time celebrating Asher and Sullivan's Birthday's.  Here are a few more snap shots of the party.

Asher & Sullivan's Carnival Party {part 1}

This past weekend, Asher turned two and my nephew Sullivan turned one.  We celebrated in an over the top kind of way by throwing a carnival party!

There were a few carnival games...

I think the kids had a great time with the games...

By playing the games you won tickets which you could cash in for prizes...

 Of course you needed to decorate your own bag to hold the prizes.
More to come soon...
