What I am thankful for...

This week/weekend was full of some of my favorite "F's," food and family! On Thanksgiving day, we hosted Thanksgiving at our house. Jeremy once again made an amazing turkey. (Forgot to take pictures) This year we got a huge turkey to have lots of leftovers! Over the weekend we had another Thansgiving at Jeremy's Aunt Mic's, a birthday party for my nephew Nolan, and today, Jodi and I baked cookies for Landon's birthday party. It was a busy weekend and I am thrilled to be heading back into a routine tomorrow!

I have so many things to be thankful for, including the big guy in the picture above! Jeremy and I have such wonderful families, we have our health, our jobs and a sturdy roof over our heads. That is all I can ask for. Life is treating us well and I am very thankful for everything!

Happy 3rd Birthday Nolan!

Yesterday, my nephew Nolan turned 3! We were invited over to his house to help him celebrate his big day. Nolan had a Cars themed birthday party, and it was so much fun. Landon pretty much hibernated in Nolan's room and loved playing with all of his tractors! Nolan is one of the smartest 3 year olds I know, and I am so proud he is my nephew! Happy Birthday Nolan!

Our new jeep...

I am proud to announce that Jeremy is now the proud owner of a 1951 Willy's Jeep! Jeremy has a strong love for his jeep's and was super excited that I "let" him buy this jeep. Truth be told, I am actually just as excited as he is! It is definitely a project, and will not be worked on for a long time, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. Can you believe we are only the 3rd owners?
Landon loves hanging out with his Dad at the shop. Give him a screw driver and put him in the Jeep and he is one happy camper. I see this as a project that Landon and Jeremy can work on together in the distant future. We have already decided what color it will be painted. Obviously, Jeremy has a Jeep, now Landon has a Jeep, I wonder when I will get my new four door Jeep?

Cereal, mmm, mmm, good

Landon does not take after me in very many ways, with the exception of his love of cereal. I love cereal. I eat cereal every morning. I would rather have cereal than a hot breakfast. Landon too loves cereal. Unlike me, Landon has discovered that he enjoys the milk at the bottom of the bowl far more than the cereal itself! Who'd figure!

Green Bay weekend vacation

This past weekend we headed Jer and I, along with Randy and Cathy headed to Green Bay for the Packers vs. Cowboys game. Although the Cowboys lost, it was still an awesome weekend. Here are a few pictures that highlighted our trip.Yes, the treadmill was one of my biggest highlights. With the built in TV, this is definitely on my wish list!

Two year photo shoot

Yesterday, I took Landon to Cedar Falls to have his two year photos taken. Rose owns Infinite Image Design and has been taking Landon's photos since he was 6 months old. I LOVE her!! Landon was definately showing some "twoisms," but Rose was so patient and understanding. Initially Rose had to hide from Landon because he was being so shy. After a little "talk" from Mom, (and bribing) Landon did much better! Even when I think that he was being so bad and none of the pictures were going to turn out, she comes up with these awesome photos! To see the rest of them, click on http://infiniteimagedesign.exposuremanager.com/g/children. Click on Landon's picture, and the password is Merrill.

Tractors, Wagons and combines, oh my...

On Sunday, we stopped by Grandpa's work to bring him lunch. Landon was in aw over the big combines that he saw through the shop doors. Landon was lucky enough to have Grandpa show him a combine and tractor up close.
Grandpa then suggested that I take Landon up in the combine. This was a new experience for me as well. It is really high up! I think this made Landon a little nervous, because he immediately wanted down.
When we got home from New Hampton, the neighbors were combining beans. What a perfect view from our bedroom window. Landon stood there for the entire time he could see the combine, holding on to his new combine and making tractor noises! This was far more important than taking a nap!
This is Landon's newest piece of equipment. His very own combine. He is so obsessed with all of his farm machinery, and even insists on falling asleep with them. At 3:30 in the morning, Landon woke up and the head of his combine had fallen off. Landon cried and cried, fix it, fix it...
And all of Landon's tractors, wagons and his combine. Lining them up to hit the field!

Playing at the park

We took advantage of some nice weather on Sunday and headed over to the park in New Hampton. We brought Grandpa lunch at work and Landon got to sit in a combine! See the post above! We then headed over to their huge playground. No one else was there because there was a parade in town, so we had it all to our selves. Both Landon and Elke loved running up and down.

Oink, oink, moo, moo, Landon's turning 2!

I honestly can not believe that I am planning Landon's second birthday party! Landon is currently obsessed with tractors, wagons and any kind of animal. So, the theme for Landon's party is going to be down on the farm. I am so excited for his party! Don't tell Landon, but I think he may be getting some (more) tractors!

This is the invitation I designed for Landon's party.

Bath time

Landon really loves bath time. Here are a few photos after his bath the other night. He is so precious!
