Sparklers

I've always been a little nervous for Landon to try sparklers.  I remember getting burned by one when I was 6 or 7 and I thought my world was coming to an end.  Obviously it didn't.

I broke down because they were super duper cheap and I thought he would enjoy them, and I would enjoy him enjoying them.  Got that?
After Asher went to bed, we broke them out...
and he loved them.  And I love him.

Swim lessons

After last years (failed) attempt at swim lessons, I was really looking forward to Landon's lessons this year.  Landon has changed a lot this past year, and is really starting to become more social.  He has even (up until a few weeks ago), been going to Sunday school and really enjoying it.
There's been a lot of hype leading up to his lessons...
We got to the pool half an hour early so Landon could play and get acclimated to the water.  Landon was all about the toys, but when his instructor asked if he was ready to get in the water, he shook his head no and gave me this look like, are you kidding me Mom?

Landon's teacher and I attempted to coax him into the water for about ten minutes.  After that, I realized there is no point.  We were not going to attempt lessons this year.  There's always next year...
After his lessons were a no go, we walked over to the baby pool.  Nope he said, not going in there either.

Presents

Grandma Debbie recently went on vacation and upon her return she, um, surprise, surprise, had a few little gifts for the boys.  A horse for Landon...
and a ball for Asher. They are so spoiled loved!

Visiting the Nelson's

I mentioned that we were in Cedar Falls last weekend for the Miller Cousin Reunion.  Well, I couldn't be in the same town as my newest nephew and not go see him...

Landon and I had a little discussion about who got to hold him first.  After I held Sullivan for a few minutes, Landon was eager to give Sully a little love.
My turn again.  Asher did ok for the most part and then he thought he needed on my lap.  I really don't think it was a jealousy thing, I really think Asher wanted to see the baby.
And grab the baby's face.  Ha, ok, so Asher didn't get his hands on Sully, because I was quick with my right hand.  Kudos to Landon's photography skills!
We miss you baby Sully!

Family Reunion

This past weekend, Jeremy and I headed to Cedar Falls for a little family reunion.  Jeremy's Grandma Barb flew her grand children in for a reunion.  Since we live just an hour and a half away, it was easy travels for us!
It has been forever since Jeremy and his cousins have all been together at the same time.  Jeremy and I both had so much fun catching up with everyone.
So here's the fam:  Jeremy's cousins Jessica and Alex both live in Cedar Falls.  This is Alex's dog Oakley.
Cameron, Lauren and Caitlin live in Calfornia.
Jake is married to Katrin and they have sweet little Emily who is 11 months old.  Seated on the floor is Ashley and next to Grandma Barb is Joe.  They live in the Colorado and surrounding areas.
I think you know who these guys are. ;)
Barb and her grandchildren...
Barb and her great grandchildren.
On a side note, all weekend long, we heard how Asher looked so much like Jeremy's cousin Cameron when he was a baby.  Here is Cameron now...
And Cameron at the age of 1...

And a side by side comparison of Cameron at the age 1 and Asher at the age 1.
I think it's ca-razy how much they look a like.  The picture of Cameron on the slide I would swear is Asher.

Anyway, it was a fantastic weekend and we had a great time catching up with everyone!
