Life Fest 2012

This past weekend our church held life fest 2012.  It was really just a great big party, and it was such a fun time.  Great weather, lots of great food, and great company.

The boys...unsure where to run to first.
Landon was a whole lot of talk and thought he wanted to go into the bouncy house.  He did for about a minute and then asked if he could go in by himself, without other kids.  After telling him that wasn't an option, he opted out.

There was even an inflatable obstacle course for the adults.  That was fun (to watch)!
The biggest sandbox I have ever seen.
Neither of the boys really liked it.  I took Asher's sandals off and put his toes in the sand.  He did not enjoy it, and let everyone know.  And Landon, well, for those that know him, you know that he wouldn't step foot in there.  He was pretty content playing in the sand for the outside.
After some ball, moo mobile shakes, playing on the swingset and so on, it was on for a hay ride around the farm.
Jer and Landon enjoyed the hayride, but by this point, Asher was conked out.  Both boys enjoyed were asleep by the time we headed home and took over a 2 hour nap.

We had such a good time, and I can't tell you how wonderful and important our church family is to us!

Shake it Asher

My friend Stephanie introduced me to this song Hold On by Alabama Shakes.  Landon likes to play it for Asher.  Asher likes to dance to it.  But then again, Asher was dancing to NPR the other day as well...
Here is the video of Hold On just for you Landon.

Not your typical friday morning

I took today off work and had nothing planned except all the routine weekend chores.  Groceries, laundry, clean the house, etc...I didn't want this beautiful morning to go to waste however, so I loaded up the stroller for our trip to Decorah.

The boys enjoyed a stroller ride while I got in a nice 3 mile run/walk.  Ok, so there was more walking than running.  I have fallen off the workout wagon, and need a shove back on.

Landon almost jumped out of the stroller as we crossed a bridge.
Down below was this chubby little beaver.
Luckily that was all we seen, well except deer.  It crossed my mind about half way through, what happens if I see the black bear.  He was last seen by Walmart a few days ago.  Throw Landon's granola bar at him and run?  Thankfully we didn't see the black bear.

We then made our way to the fish hatchery.  It was crazy packed there and it wasn't even 9 am.  Almost every vehicle out there was out of state, and the two that I did see from Iowa were out of county.  How fun is that!  Here are the boys enjoying their morning snacks and drinks.
Landon feeding the fish.
We jam packed our day with all the other not so fun stuff, but will have more fun tonight when we head out for t-ball in a bit.  Have a great weekend!

9 years!

Today, Jeremy and I celebrated 9 years of marriage.  With Jer's new work schedule, he is pretty much walking out the door in the morning as I am getting up and going (5:45 a.m.).  When I walked out to the kitchen, I found 9 beautiful roses sitting on the kitchen counter.  Here's to 90 more!

It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance ... love will last forever"  1 Corinthians 13:4–8a

T-ball

Friday nights in June, Landon is playing t-ball in Spillville.  He is really enjoying it thus far, and loves to run super fast.  He is even ok with getting dirty.  Yay!  Here's the big guy in action.

Even the little guy is enjoying himself. :)

Asher has been walking for a couple weeks and waving bye bye (and knowing what it means), for a couple days. Asher is 11 months old today, more pictures soon!  I promise!
